This medicine is a antibiotic. It is used to treat certain bacterial infection such as meningitis (infections of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord), and infections of the throat, sinuses, lungs, reproductive organ (vaginal infection), urinary tract, and gastrointestinal tract.
It is also used for the treatment of beta-hemolytic streptococcal and pneumococcal infections as well as staphylococcal infections.
A Semi-synthetic penicillin antibiotic which is a chlorinated derivative of oxacillin.
