Betnovate C Cream 30 gm belongs to a class of dermatological medication' Topical Anti-Infectives with Corticosteroids' used to treat skin conditions like eczema (itchy inflamed skin), psoriasis (red, itchy, scaly patch on skin), insect bites and other types of rash. Betnovate C Cream 30 gm is a combination of two drugs, namely: Betamethasone (corticosteroid) and Clioquinol (antifungal and antiprotozoal). Betnovate C Cream 30 gm treat fungal and bacterial infections of the skin. Also, Betnovate C Cream 30 gm helps to reduce swelling, itching and redness caused due to specific skin problems. Fungal infection is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the tissue and cause infection. Fungal infections may be contagious (spread from one person to another). The bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria grows in the body and cause infection.

Betnovate C Cream 30 gm is a combination of two drugs, namely: Betamethasone and Clioquinol. Betnovate C Cream 30 gm is used to treat fungal and bacterial infections of the skin, thereby reducing swelling, itching and redness caused due to certain skin problems. Betamethasone is a corticosteroid that acts inside skin cells and inhibits the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching and swelling. When the skin reacts to any allergens, such chemicals are released normally. Clioquinol is an antifungal agent with additional antibacterial action. It works by inhibiting the growth and multiplication of fungi and bacteria.

Drug Warnings
Betnovate C Cream 30 gm may cause discolouration of skin, cloth and hair. Avoid long term use of Betnovate C Cream 30 gm, abrupt withdrawal, use of occlusive dressing and application to the eyes. If you are known to be allergic to Betnovate C Cream 30 gm, iodine or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Betnovate C Cream 30 gm. Do not use Betnovate C Cream 30 gm in more than prescribed doses, or for a prolonged time as it may cause adverse effects. Wear disposable plastic gloves or wash your hands after use if you are applying Betnovate C Cream 30 gm for others. Do not wrap or cover the treated area with airtight dressings unless advised by a doctor. Avoid using Betnovate C Cream 30 gm for more than 5 days on face. Do not swallow Betnovate C Cream 30 gm. In case of accidental swallowing, consult a doctor immediately. If you have rosacea (redness and often red, small, pus-filled bumps on the face), acne, perioral dermatitis (redness and swelling of the skin around the mouth), psoriasis, chickenpox, herpes, cold sores, athlete’s foot, ringworm, thrush, impetigo (blisters or red sores on the face and hands), genital itching or other skin problems, inform your doctor before taking Betnovate C Cream 30 gm.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Betnovate C Cream 30 gm may interact with drugs used to lower high blood pressure (metoprolol), pain killers (aspirin), antianxiety drugs (alprazolam), laxatives (magnesium sulphate) and antiepileptic (vigabatrin).

Diet & Lifestyle Advise
- Regularly change your socks and wash your feet. Avoid shoes that make your feet sweaty and hot.
- In wet places such as changing rooms and gym showers, don’t walk on barefoot. Wear flip-flops or sandals to prevent fungal infections.
- Do not scratch the affected area of skin as it can spread the infection to other body parts.
- Avoid sharing towels, combs, bedsheets, shoes or socks with others to prevent the spread of infection.
- Wash your bed sheets and towels regularly.
Special Advise
- Always clean the skin before putting a fresh dressing as the infection-causing germs like moist, warm conditions under dressings or bandages.
- Avoid contact of Betnovate C Cream 30 gm with nose, mouth or eyes. In case Betnovate C Cream 30 gm comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly.
